NOT a love story Butterfly kiss was really quite good. Very sinister portrayal of a brutal psychopathic lesbian who falls in love with a meek girl and they go on a trip together and murder several people along the way.Beautifully shot along the highways of England in blues and grays… But NOT a love story. Winterbottom is a skilled director

“It’s grim up North” The storyline won’t be to everyone’s taste. It is very disturbing in parts. On first viewing, it can be difficult to watch. Having said that, I would recommend this film based on the outstanding performances by Amanda Plummer and Saskia Reeves. Amanda gives a master class in how to portray a tortured soul; and Saskia is equally as good in her role. Amanda’s performance led me to have empathy for her character’s dark and pained persona.
