Easy for Us Girls I have to admit with the casing it is a little heavier on the lanyard around the neck, but tuck it into your bra while still using the lanyard and it is easy to carry and always have with you. Yes this gives you high quality sparks and any cloth or fine tinder will start. Just have to get the knack of how apply enough pressure to it and on the proper side to get the sparks to work. But I’ve lit fires with it. I like how I can use one hand for the fire starter, and cup my other hand around…
Wow!!! ‘Flamethrower’ is a better description than Blastmatch! Perfect for hiking, camping, preparation, etc. Wowwwww. I sure wish I had this as a Boy Scout a long time ago. ‘BLASTmatch’ isn’t the word— maybe Flamethrower fits better. I’m not a Doomsday Prepper… But, I’ve outfitted my truck to be able to calmly get in and go in case of a Hurricane, Tornado, Snow, etc.. Just the basic stuff; spare clothes, blankets, sleeping bag, water, a little food, etc. Also, I have some water-proof matches and I saw this and ordered it to carry too.Wow! A little torch doesn’t have a whole lot on…
Be prepared. Not only great for camping, but I keep these in my car survival kit, as well as my hurricane supply kit. I place one of these in a coffee can of fire tabs, steel wool, freyed cotton to catch the sparks, some short waxed cardboard strips and a survival candle, and am prepared for both fire starting and a little light and heat.
